Hundreds of miles, four days of training, thousands of pounds, a high-pressure exam and two newly qualified experts – meet Technical Sales Manager Mark Griffiths and Project Engineer Chris Byrne.
The duo, from Northampton’s dust and fume extraction company McCarthy Environmental, have this month returned from an intensive training course in Scotland where they achieved the prestigious P604 accredited Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) qualification, a course accredited by BOHS (The Chartered Society for Worker Health Protection) and provided by Bill Cassells of Oxyl-8, the UK’s premier provider of LEV training.
Mick McCarthy, MD of McCarthy Environmental, said: “It is essential to invest in our staff and these intensive training courses build on the team’s existing knowledge and expertise to equip them with new skills which will help the company continue to grow and expand. These accredited qualifications reinforce the fact we are a professional organisation offering qualified advice which is coupled with years of experience in the industry.
Mark and Chris’ new qualification means they will now be able to join Mick and commission LEV systems for businesses.
Since moving into its new Swan Valley premises last year the company has significantly increased its turnover and is already planning to recruit yet further.
Mick explained “Employers have a responsibility to ensure the health and safety of their staff by law and this means ensuring employees are not exposed to hazardous substances such as dust and fumes. That is where we come in and we work with companies all over the UK, helping businesses keep their workforce healthy and safe.”
We have an ongoing training and all staff are kept up to date with all the latest accreditations. For more information about LEV solutions contact the team now.
